By utilizing the  Newington Baptist Church Library,
you will be provided with great Christian books, CDs, DVDs, and magazines so that these leisure activities will enhance your understanding of God, draw you closer to Him and  give you examples of how to deal with relationships and solve problems
or moral dilemmas from a biblical point of view.  Our library has something for everyone - adult, young adult, junior and kids.  Fiction and non-fiction.  Books, CDs and DVDs as well.

How to Check Out a Book:
Our Newington library is open at all times and we are here to assist you (before and after church). Borrowing a book or video is easy. After making a selection, remove the card from the back of the book or video, fill in the date, your name, and phone number, and then place the card in the "Book Return" clear plastic holder on top of the wooden cart in the open closet area. When returning the book or video, simply place it in the "Book Return" cart. Please be respectful and mindful of others who might enjoy the same items that you checked out.

*** Please return all videos within one week of the date borrowed.
*** Please return all books within one month.

Online Newington Library Catalog
We have a new online catalog for our Newington Library that I have been working on, and I think you’ll like it!  As of right now, it lists over 1100 items (there are probably another thousand or two to go, so it will be updated weekly, as I get time)

By clicking on the online catalog link, you can go online and browse through our NBC library for books, DVDs, etc., by using the “search this library” on the right hand side of the webpage. You can also search by Title, Author, Theme, Subject or List (located across the top).  Once you find the book you want to check out, write down the Dewey Decimal number, on the far right of the screen
(ex: 306.13) and bring this number with you when you come to church,  to locate the book on the shelf in the library.

On this site, it puts a Dewey Decimal number (even for fiction books).  I will try and go back through and edit and change these to read FIC-___ when I get time.  As for now, please remember that any “FICTION” books listed on this online catalog will be under our fiction sections at the NBC Library with FIC and then the first three letters of the author’s last name (ex:FIC-KIN for a Karen Kingsbury book). .

If you need further help, please ask me or one of our new library volunteers.   We will be glad to assist you.
If you need further assistance, please contact me by email.

Blessings to you,
Lynn  Holt, NBC Librarian
