“Fall Feasts of Israel” Presentation

Guest Speaker: Michael Herts
October 12 - 6 pm
In the Newington Sanctuary

Some have seen the Christ in the Passover presentation in the past. Here is a presentation that explains how the Messiah is related to the following Jewish feasts:

Rosh Hashanah (Feast of Trumpets), which celebrates the beginning of the Jewish Civil year.
Yom Kippur (Day of Atonement), which is considered the holiest day of the Jewish year.
Sukkot (Feast of Tabernacles/Booths), which recalls 40 years of wandering in the wilderness, living in tents (booths) and worshiping in a portable tabernacle.
The Fall is famous for many festivals. Come learn about the Jewish Fall Festivals. Israel is in the news a lot these days. Come hear about the Good News that is part of the God’s word.

A love offering will be received.

Attention all Newington Women!

Come Join the Women's Missionary Union!

Exciting things are awaiting us and our church as
we seek to minister in Jesus' name.

Jeremiah 29:11 says, "For I know the plans I have for you, plans to
give you hope and a future."
WMU seeks to reach out to others in
ways we can strengthen our faith through ministry.

Strategic Principles of the WMU are:

Pray for and donate to missions

Engage in missions

Learn about missions

Develop spiritually toward a mission lifestyle

Engage in the mission work of the church and denomination

So, if you have a heart for missions, join the WMU!
There are two groups:

1) The first group meets the 2nd Monday of each month
at 10 AM at the church.

2) The second group meets the 3rd Monday at 6:30 PM
      at the church.

                                   Dear Friends,

It is a joy to hear of the impact the Gospel of Jesus Christ is
having in nations around the world.
The shoebox gifts provide
an open door of opportunity for our co
-laborers in Christ to share
love with children and their families. We look forward to
sharing some of the stories with you in the
weeks to come.

A question often encountered is: How do I know what to put
in the box? What if I send a winter
hat and it ends up with
someone in the tropics? Some months ago, a young boy in
Africa received
a pair of mittens. Can you imagine planning that?
Thankfully, our wise and loving God knew that a
small boy was in
need of mittens to perform his daily tasks that included moving
a hot pot off of a
fire. An unexpected gift at the right time opened
wide a door to share the Gospel.

Each box has a purpose. Each touches a life for Jesus Christ.
Each one goes where needed.
May the generosity of your gift
bring you joy in knowing that Christ is touching many lives as
hearts of our brothers and sisters abroad are encouraged
and many are welcomed into God's fam

God's Word Every Day

We distribute Bibles and New Testaments because we
believe God's Word is relevant and powerful and that people
can grow spiritually by reading it and applying God's truth in their lives.

For the same reason, we are sharing our daily Bible reading calendar.
Gideons use this calendar to read through the Bible in a year.
We invite you to read along with us by visiting this site every day,
or by downloading the calendar as a pdf file
