Attention all Newington Women!

Come Join the Women's Missionary Union!

Exciting things are awaiting us and our church as we seek to minister in Jesus' name.

Jeremiah 29:11 says, "For I know the plans I have for you, plans to give you hope and a future." WMU seeks to reach out to others in ways we can strengthen our faith through ministry

Strategic Principles of the WMU are:

  • Pray for and donate to missions

  • Engage in missions

  • Learn about missions

  • Develop spiritually toward a mission lifestyle

  • Engage in the mission work of the church and denomination

So, if you have a heart for missions, join the WMU!

There are two groups:

1) The first group meets the 2nd Monday of each month at 10 AM at the church.

2) The second group meets the 3rd Monday at 6:30 PM at the church.

Jerry Young, WMU Director, will be glad to answer any questions.

Dear Friends,                                     OPERATION CHRISTMAS CHILD

It is a joy to hear of the impact the Gospel of Jesus Christ is having in nations around the world. The shoebox gifts provide an open door of opportunity for our co-laborers in Christ to share God's love with children and their families. We look forward to sharing some of the stories with you in the weeks to come.

A question often encountered is: How do I know what to put in the box? What if I send a winter hat and it ends up with someone in the tropics? Some months ago, a young boy in Africa received a pair of mittens. Can you imagine planning that? Thankfully, our wise and loving God knew that a small boy was in need of mittens to perform his daily tasks that included moving a hot pot off of a fire. An unexpected gift at the right time opened wide a door to share the Gospel.

Each box has a purpose. Each touches a life for Jesus Christ. Each one goes where needed. May the generosity of your gift bring you joy in knowing that Christ is touching many lives as the hearts of our brothers and sisters abroad are encouraged and many are welcomed into God's family.

If you are interested in serving with us this year as we prepare for our church Packing Party, please contact us at (804) 384-8833 or by email at

Because of His Great Mercy,

David and Tammy

Baby Bottle Campaign 2014 . . . Small Change, BIG Impact...

Everyone is encouraged to pick up an empty baby bottle,
fill with coins or bills and return. (Checks need to be made payable to
NBC and then church will write one check.)

Working TOGETHER to save and change lives, one mom,
one dad, one baby at a time!

Since 1973, struggling women have had a choice that might have
seemed like it would solve all their problems: a legal abortion.
But this choice has meant both the loss of more than 55 million lives
and the untold suffering of the millions more who were affected by
the tragedy of that decision. To- day and every day, Care Net supports
women and helps them regain control in their lives. Help, hope and healing
through medical services, education , a residential program and
ongoing help is offered. The CareNet vision is to honor LIFE by
modeling Christ in providing services that
meet the needs of women,
men and families facing pregnancy and sexual health issues.

This is how we know what Love is:

Jesus Christ laid down his Life for us.
And we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers & sisters.
(1 John 3:16)

Life hangs in the balance for many unborn children—
and their mothers and fathers.
On an average, just 4 or 5
baby bottles filled with change provide one client with a free pregnancy test,
a listening ear, accurate information and life
-affirming options.

God's Word Every Day

We distribute Bibles and New Testaments because we
believe God's Word is relevant and powerful and that people
can grow spiritually by reading it and applying God's truth in their lives.

For the same reason, we are sharing our daily Bible reading calendar.
Gideons use this calendar to read through the Bible in a year.
We invite you to read along with us by visiting this site every day,
or by downloading the calendar as a pdf file
